Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Tameside were delighted to invite some of the families they are helping and their team of volunteer support workers to a good old fashioned Fish and Chips supper on Friday 1st May at Carmel Christian Centre, Denton, where the Tameside Office is based.
Centre Manager, Lisa Gilmore said "We had an amazing evening with over 90 people coming on the night. Everyone enjoys fish & chips and Renfrews English Fish & Chip Shop were brilliant in relaying the food over to us. Our special guest for the night was Rod Williams, from CAP Head Office, who did some fantastic illusions for us, Dynamo style. Rod also shared his amazing life story, about how he turned his world away from a life of drug addiction. Rod who has released his autobiography, The Real Deal, was only to happy to sign his book afterwards."
CAP works with families who are struggling with severe debt offering free help. Lisa continued " No one should live in fear of debt, there is free help out there. I would encourage anyone struggling to put food on the table or pay their normal household bills because of debt to get in touch with us. The journey to get out of debt is hardwork and takes some determination so we like to bless our clients from time to time to acknowledge how well they are doing. Who doesnt enjoy a night out? "
